La Grosse Lanterne festival, in collaboration with Bonsound Concerts, will be back this year for a second edition on August 7th and 8th: music, visual arts, good food, ecology and outdoor activities will once again be in the spotlight on the wooded banks of the Black River.

The small town of Béthanie, in Montérégie, will proudly host an eclectic variety of bands on Saturday, August 8th. Most notably, Malajube will head the line-up, making this their first public show in over two years. Loud Lary Ajust and Koriass, two of the most important players in today’s Quebec rap scene, will also perform. Up-and-comers Heat (who harken back to cult bands like The Strokes and The Velvet Underground) will also join the party. Montreal’s very own rising girl duo, Milk & Bone will be there to perform their already internationally acclaimed electro-pop. Ponctuation will bring along their psychedelic garage rock, and the super promising band Country will complete the lineup, adding a touch of gothic synth-pop to La Grosse Lanterne.

To make the fun last longer, we’ve added one more day to the festival’s second edition. The festival-goers will therefore be able to start their weekend on Friday August 7th with an outdoor film projection and a DJ set that will warm up the hostel area in the evening.

Come enjoy the Black River by pitching your tent along its banks! BBQ grills will also be available to campers, in addition to bar and catering services.

La Grosse Lanterne is an alternatively designed and executed festival, and its continuity would never be possible without the collaboration of our partners Moog Audio, Boréale and Naya. This year, SiriusXM will also be joining La Grosse Lanterne.
